Sheriff Carter and the entire staff of the Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office mourn the loss of Woodstock Fire Department member, Dan Hottel. Dan was a great man, and our friend.Words come easily to firefighters. Swapping war stories, giving training tips, sharing tricks of the trade, razzing on each other, and sharing our everyday life experiences with each other. Today our voice has been taken, and the words are hard to pinpoint. We shed our tears and hold onto each other tightly as we cherish the memories of one of our own.

This man shared his words with so many people in our community. His lessons in the firehouse taught us how to improve from where we’ve been, and to slow down & think things through. To provide us the rich history of our past to help us continue to grow into the future without him. He knew he would leave us one day... He prepared us in his way to carry on in the firehouse & in our daily lives though his wisdom.

This morning God accepted a great man into his kingdom. That man was called by many names over the years, but to most of us in the firehouse he is called “Pops”.

We Love You Pops.
We honor you by answering the call.
We Thank You for the 78 years of Service & Sacrifice you gave to us all.

Deputy Trevor Rick had lunch at the Fort Valley Country Store today. They have free delivery, volunteers are helping drive deliveries for them.

They have hard to get supplies such as eggs.

Due to bread being bought in big stores, they're offering homemade bread and cakes.

They are still making food for curbside pick up.

They are managing bulk buying so supplies stay available and are maintaining proper cleanliness and social distancing while in store.

well someone in the fort must be selling farm fresh eggs cause part of my fridge was commandeered for 8 dozen eggs

Awesome uniform Trevor Rick

The heart of Fort Valley!

If they do not wash farm eggs they can set out for 3 or 4 weeks. So if you are lacking room you can do that but do not wash them until you go to use them

Shhhhhhhh! Don't let our secret gem out of the bag! We haven't gone nuts over here yet! Lol

Trevor you rock!!!!!

you criminals better knock it off, this is a bad time to be getting confined in a small place with a lot of other people with no way out. its a doubly bad time to be thinking, i think ill go to this house and steal this or commit this crime, big mistake.

So sad to see my brother in law like this . We’re praying very hard that he gets the help he needs 💓

I must say it's pretty pathetic that you people who do not know myself nor the case yet already you find me guilty it seems. Each and every one of you should take a look in the mirror at yourselves. Especially those of you calling yourselves followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Do not judge. As everyone of you on here already jumped to the conclusion that I am guilty. "Innocent until proven guilty", has turned to "guilty until proven innocent."

Also I was born December 8th, 1985. This means I happen to be 34 years of age not 37 as this article states.

*Stop at all intersections.
*Before turning, use hand signals and look all ways.
*Ride defensively - anticipate the actions of other road users and watch for road hazards.
*Pass vehicles with extreme care - turning vehicles may not see you.
*Be aware of motor vehicle blind spots while riding or when stopped at an intersection.
*Walk your bicycle when you get into traffic situations beyond your cycling abilities.
*Exercise great caution when riding in heavy traffic.
*Watch out for cars pulling to and from driveways

All the points mentioned that apply to cyclists is exactly why they are a problem on the road. In my experience, cyclists think they own the road and other drivers need to yield to them 100% of the time. I don't think so. They wanna run with the big boys, they need to use some sense.

Should be easy at this moment🤔

Come on Lexi!! Get it together girl. It's help out there just reach for it. Your family loves you especially them kids!

🙏prayers for her to get help and lead a good life

Nice work guys!

Lexi you have to stay away from the people pulling you back into this crap!! Your so much better then this. Get it together.. Your kids need you!! You were doing so well. I really hope this is it for you and you decide to get out and be the person and mother we know you can be!!

Sounds like time to get Sparky ready.

Prayers God Bless her may she move away from those bad influences and get back on track Amen

I’m glad! People like her do not deserve or should ever be on the streets! Anyone can comment about how they disagree, but you haven’t suffered the pain I have because of her!

What convenient timing. Hope they leave you in there. Scum.

Great vacation girl

You can pray all you want for people like this. But unless they make the choice to stop being a cancer on society, then they deserve everything they get.

For those who have negative comments, unless you have been through addiction or have cried over a family member who struggles with addiction, stfu. I didn’t understand it and to this day I don’t fully understand the powers of addiction but let me tell you they are struggling. There is no help in this area. There is too much available in this area. No one is doing anything to help. It’s a devastating situation for anyone involved. I absolutely despise what meth and heroin has done. Yes using is a choice but addiction is a disease. So once again if you have not personally experienced the pain or loss of someone addicted, stfu and gtfooh!!!!!

Again?!

Smh

Alexis is LOVED by MANY

Prayers

Prayers 🙏💕

Praying for you

No victim, no crime... Jury nullification (US) or a perverse verdict (UK) generally occurs when members of a criminal trial jury believe that a defendant is guilty, but choose to acquit the defendant anyway because the jurors also believe that the law itself is unjust, that the prosecutor has misapplied the law in the defendant's case, or that the potential punishment for breaking the law is too harsh. Some juries have also refused to convict due to their own prejudices in favour of the defendant.

Sending prayers for you Alexis 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Good job guys!

She's never going to learn her lesson

Prayers for her and her family

Again...

People need to take care of their own problems. I understand people need their friends and families to support them, but when they keep making the same mistakes, then they need to pay the price for their mistakes.

The charge is dealing not addiction.

That's a very good thing to do. They get out dated and you shouldn't take them may cause more problems. Keep all medicine away from children.

Good! Poor animals

Won't be long before the facebook defense team shows up. Great job scso!!

Hate people hurt poor helpless animals lock her on small leash

Way to go Shenandoah county !! Animal abuse needs to stop 🛑 and our county rocks when it comes to putting a stop to it !!! Thank you officers for always going above and beyond to help those with no VOICE

I ran over a cat today, didn't even swerve.

Way to go guys, this kind of abuse has to stop clean them all off streets

Hope she gets what she deserves, a special place in hell for people like this. Poor animals suffering. Yet she looks well fed..smh

I thought she did animal rescue I'm so confused... She was just posting finding homes for dogs.....

Good job guys!

Deardra Nichole sad

Good

we don't know the whole story leta pray for her please I think think things got ahead of her just being neutral

This is the worse kind of person!

She didnt "abuse" them or neglect, she took on more rescues than she could handle or afford , she asked for donations but no one really gave her time a day. I'm not saying right or wrong, I just know that much info

Hope you get treated like you did those poor animals. You are a nasty and ugly and you are on something the way you look !! You will get what you deserve !!

This horrible 😭😭 she needs to stay in jail these poor babies was abused

I also suspect that she falsely collected donations as non-profit. I checked non profit listings in VA and her rescue did not show up

Yes animal cruelty, neglect and abuse are horrible. There are several different reasons why someone could get charged/arrested for this. Nobody but her and God actually know what did or didn’t happen. I do know for a fact that the animals were not abused or mistreated. She loved all the animals. She took in any and all stray and rescued animals. She became overwhelmed and received no help from the community for which she did reach out and asked for. I understand from reading the post it sounds horrible but this post isn’t the whole story with all the details. Before you pass judgment and jump to conclusions know the whole story! I am an animal lover and this is sad but I don’t know the whole story. AND her looks, clothes and her weight have nothing to do with anything. Last time I checked those details don’t define a person and have nothing to do with the charges. I also understand that this is public knowledge and everyone is entitled to their own opinion but for a second stop and think if this was your daughter, sister, mother, niece, granddaughter, cousin or friend....Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law not a Facebook page or post! Have a blessed evening 🙏

I am sorry but there is no excuse for animal abuse regardless of her intentions to rescue

i see more and more of these people in my fb news feed that are RESCUING animals, cats dogs horses cows you name it, that then go on to try to get funding from others that doesnt pan out. My opinion, a lot of people out there have decided that RESCUING animals is a way to make some fast cash and it is that opportunity that drives them to RESCUE and post these animals. Perhaps we need new laws, for those that decide they are going to rescue animals, if you cant prove you have the means to provide the required care prior to rescue, its a felony. Seeking funding after the rescue would be prima facia evidence that you are guilty

I was dumb enough to donate to this group! Will not happen again!

We can't past judgement the only people who really know what is going on is God, the law enforcement officers, and Erica. Let the courts handle her judgment if she is innocent or not. God will handle her conscience. Instead of dishing out your opinion stand up and make a difference by doing something. She thought she was doing something good. She may have been unorganized. Maybe she needed help. Instead of watching the fallout you should lift another up. I may not of offered help I haven't even heard of this girl. I can tell you I smile speak offer help do anything I to be nice to someone. It may make a difference in their life. Just so you all know your tax dollars are now taking care of her. She is on our dime now.

You know what anyway that is cruel to animals would and will be cruel to senior citizens handicapped people and little children are not the kind of people I want around my animals and I treat my baby like he's my son he's part of my family I don't want anybody anyone around my baby is cruel mean and heartless I hope you rot in hell because he's a special place for cruel me people like this shame shame shame on you

Throw the book at this maggot!!

But Im a horrible person?
