Why are people still falling for scams like this. If it seems too good to be true, it IS too good to be true!

The dog pictured below is missing. She was last seen today, 1/7/2019 in the area of Barbershop Road in Edinburg. She’s been staying near the creek in this area. Her name is Dottie. She’s very skittish, please do not approach her. One of the people trying to help find her gives a good description below of the circumstances....

"She [is] an abused rescue and was only with the family for two weeks. She has now been on the run for twice that long. It is important for everyone to realize that this family is very concerned, proactive and dedicated to getting this dog home. This is NOT your usual "wayward dog" situation. She is very smart and just as leary. She is wise to cage traps and is extremely sensitive to increased activities in her environment. She was very standoffish to the food put out for her..."

***Throwback Thursday***

Court Day in 1920s.

Comment on Facebook

Court days were public events back then. People would come from all over by car, horse or train

Was the same in early colonial days and as the people started spreading out new counties were petitioned for due to the distance needed to travel to court. That's how the various counties came about. At one time if you lived in the valley you likely had to got to court in Fairfax, Prince William or Stafford county.

So what year did the accused start standing outside the doors smoking cigarettes and wearing sweatpants.

We should put the gallows back on court Square and sell tickets.

Love old pics

It's always interesting to see how things have changed, love throwback Thursdays 😁

Jules Sullivan love old photos !!!

Unreal how times changed.. i cant imagine what time will do to the world 20 to 30 years from now.

Sheriff Timothy Carter and the entire Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office staff send our condolences and prayers to the family of Trooper Lucas B. Dowell and the Virginia State Police.VSP Mourning Loss of Trooper Killed in Cumberland County Shooting The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Appomattox Field Office is investigating a shooting in Cumberland County that claimed the life of a Virginia State Police trooper and resulted in the death of the shooting suspect. The incident occurred Monday, Feb. 4, 2019. Trooper Lucas B. Dowell, 28, was a member of the Virginia State Police Tactical Team that was assisting the Piedmont Regional Drug and Gang Task Force with executing a search warrant at a residence in the 1500 block of Cumberland Road/Route 45, just north of the town limits of Farmville. The Tactical Team had made entry into the residence shortly before 10 p.m. Monday when an adult male inside the residence began shooting at them. The Tactical Team members returned fire, fatally wounding the male suspect. Trooper Dowell was transported to Southside Community Hospital in Farmville where he succumbed to his injuries. Trooper Dowell becomes the Department’s 66th line of duty death. The Chilhowie, Va. native graduated the Virginia State Police’s 122nd Basic Session in November 2014. Since graduation he has been assigned to the Virginia State Police Appomattox Division; his latest assignment was on patrol in Area 20, which encompasses the City of Lynchburg, and Amherst and Campbell counties. He was a member of the Appomattox Division Tactical Team - the equivalent of a SWAT Team. He is survived by his parents and a sister. “This is an extremely difficult day for the State Police,” said Colonel Gary T. Settle, Virginia State Police Superintendent. “We are humbled by Lucas’ selfless sacrifice and grateful for his dedicated service to the Commonwealth. He will forever be remembered by his State Police Family for his great strength of character, tenacity, valor, loyalty and sense of humor.” The adult male suspect, Corey Johnson, 44, died at the scene. His remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond for examination and autopsy. State police are still in the process notifying next of kin. The male suspect was the only individual inside the residence at the time of the shooting. The search warrant was being conducted as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. No other troopers were injured in the shooting. In accordance with Virginia State Police policy, the two troopers who fired their weapons have been placed on administrative leave. ... Is there a limit on how much you can bring in for drop off?

Do you know where an expired epi-pen can be disposed of?

What should one do with empty inhalers? Thanks for offering this service!

WTF

Jimmy Barb I agree

So sad. He’s not a bad person whatsoever. Good people make mistakes.

Not a bad person at all just made a bad decision, addiction isnt a fun game get help while you can.

Maybe someone can steer him towards Shenandoah Teen Challenge. They do some incredible work there with men and women fighting their addictions.

I went to school with him. He is not a bad person. Some people dont realize all it takes is ONE time to get addicted & then before you know it you cant find your way out. I pray he gets the help he needs for himself & his kids.

This is so hard to see... I hope he can get through this and get better for his family and most of all his kids 😞

Where's all the great job ppl at.😕😒👀

Melanie Barb

Prayers GOD BLESS he is a very good young man & a good Christian man that made a mistake love ya

If anyone is any better let them be the first to cast the first stone, there is no one in this world of the flesh that is perfect, prayers would be better then criticism

Prayers. I hope he can find the help he needs. His children needs him in their life. God Bless, and Best Of Luck!

Junkie keep him in jail

She’s very skittish, please do not approach her. One of the people trying to help find her gives a good description below of the circumstances....

"She [is] an abused rescue and was only with the family for two weeks. She has now been on the run for twice that long. It is important for everyone to realize that this family is very concerned, proactive and dedicated to getting this dog home. This is NOT your usual "wayward dog" situation. She is very smart and just as leary. She is wise to cage traps and is extremely sensitive to increased activities in her environment. She was very standoffish to the food put out for her..."

This was the initial picture I got of the dog on my trail camera. I got home and made a post about the dog and immediately purt food in a pack and went back. I was in contact with the owners the very next dayand learned the dogs backstory. She was an abused rescue and was only with the family for two weeks. She was very standoffish to the food put out for her and I have pictures to prove it. She was on my property for about 5 days and we worked hard to conclude this issue. The added activities and commotion is what pushed her off my place, I am sure. I have pics of the owner and another person who was trying to help, coming into her area and 10 min after they walked off the dog was investigating the same spot. A friend of mine saw her the third morning and when she spotted him she was gone like a shot. I wish the best for the dog "Dottie" and her family but I don't believe she will be recovered by any normal course of action. I sincerely hope I am wrong on that. Thank you Kelley Stroop.

Looks like she needs some food

God people! Some of these comments are ignorant! This dog has been ALL OVER FACEBOOK for a MONTH! The family has tried EVERYTHING to catch her. But she was recently adopted by them and came from an abused background, so she is skittish and weary! Now a very experienced trapper , who WILL EVENTUALLY get her, has been working on trapping her. Of course she is thin, she has been on the run for a month! Doesn’t take a genius to figure that out! She was not abused, she was not neglected. She was very well loved and cared for. She is very skittish, so she will not come to anyone! She is getting thin, a thin dog is a hungry dog, so, hopefully she will go into the trap soon! So there is the story!!!

Mike Hosaflook is this the same dog you had on your game cam? Or did jus share it

She looks very skinny

Praying

Please read the comments before commenting how she looks. THEN u will understand why she looks the way she does.

Poor dog. Dogz like thid very seldom get a chance at a normal life. I really hope she is found and gets the chance she deserves.

A microchip is a small, electronic chip that is about the same size as a grain of rice. The microchip itself does not have a battery; it is activated by a scanner, and the radio waves put out by the scanner activate the chip. No surgery or anesthesia is required. A microchip can be implanted during a routine veterinary office visit. A microchip is not a tracker but acts as another form of ID that cannot be lost.

When an animal is found and taken to a shelter or veterinary clinic, one of the first things they do is scan the animal for a microchip. If they find a microchip, and if the microchip registry has accurate information, they can quickly find the animal’s owner and be reunited. Cost of technology has come down greatly making the cost much more reasonable for pet owners.

Call your vet today to make an appointment to get your pet microchipped.

My heart just sank at this. I’ve known Cassie my whole life basically and I suggest don’t judge someone by what the paper says. I can assure you no one was there, nor knows the whole story. Neither was I.. but before judging ... let’s know what we’re talking about. Keep your head up Cassie . I love you!!! ❤️❤️

well merry christmas

This young lady needs prayers and strength to overcome this horrible drug addiction that many others had and unfortunately wasn’t so lucky to be alive

To young to waste your life.

Those aren't pimples, they're pickin pox.

It’s a shame that people would rather do meth/drugs rather than spend time with their kid. Smh. People who choose drugs over their kids are disgusting.

I DO hope that there has been or will be a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation?

It's so sad there are so many minors listed here. Punish the parents as well.

Madison Albright there are so many kids on here omg

What has our society come to, to have so many juveniles on this list?

It’s called no discipline at home and CANT discipline at school! This is the product of an undisciplined society!!

I've always wondered how people can get out on band when they're already out on bond. One girl on here has been arrested 5 times in one month. Don't let her back out!

That's what happens when parents are scared to whoop their kids ass... Cps and law enforcement made it that way...

Shenandoah County needs a rec center or something for the youth besides walking the streets but instead we build banks and brewery’s.

Stacey Givens look at the charges all these little kids are getting lol wtf????

Virginia build I-81 then drew up the blueprints how it should look.

People just need to drive for conditions. They drive too fast in the first place and need to maintain their vehicles and tires. If it's raining, snowing or icy, they need to slow down to keep control of their vehicle.

I'm hearing reports that both lanes blocked at 295 NB as well??

What is the name associated #274

That's just north of the MJ exit. Looks like Andros (Bowman Apple) in the background.

James Sibert- I know you are headed to work soon..

Vickie Barb Conner

So glad Virginia is going to fix this problem!!! 🙄 When will enough be enough. Widen the roads. More people exist now than 40 years ago!!!

Go look at I 95 on Googlemaps with traffic turned on. From the beltway to south of Fredericksburg. You'll be glad for 81. But I still agree that 81 needs fixing.

Shocker

Rt 11 was packed when I was on it...all the over flow from 81!!! All the way up into Strasburg!

Virginia you should be ashamed‼️ So many accidents, deaths, serious injured. Obviously, you just do not care about us!

I drove 150 miles today on I-81/I-66, part of the way in a driving rainstorm. Everyone was courteous and seemed to be driving with their eyes on the road. Heavy traffic, but no troubles between10am and 1pm(at least in the direction I was traveling). Traffic moved right along, close to speed limit. Always expect a slowdown northbound approaching Strasburg, and be careful of cars/trucks merging onto highway (esp at #273! why are there so many crashes there?)

Its not the road that is to blame

Summer Dixon could have been this?

Say it isn't so, smh

I grew up on this road... It always flood's....

This is near me. People still cross it covered with water. Dumb move!!

Seems like they should at least put rails or something here if it floods all the time. Just in case someone makes that awful decision 🙁

Needs a higher bridge

There are hundreds of these bridges out there, the cost to replace them would be astronomical, common sense is free

I grew up on this road and still visit my parents often. I hate it when you go to the bridge because the barrels were either moved or not put up and have to turn around. One side is not bad but the other is horrible place to turn around
