Finally they caught him! You would think at his age he would make better decisions! I hope he has learned from his mistakes so that he will not hurt anyone else in the future!

He missed a court date due to being in the hospital and failed to have a good court appointed attorney to let the judge know this.. And than he was at uva for months and rehab for months and wasn't medically cleared for jail yet... Now the rockingham co jail will pay for his doctor appointments and rehab and therapy ....

Thank you RCSO! Glad he’s behind bars!

And rockingham co don't even know why he has half the charges on him... So be fun to know

Nabbing this perp was a service to all of mankind.

Thanks for nabbing him.

I am sorry this guy is not medically cleared to be in jail .

You'll should know the facts and speak the truth because you'll dont know this man he is a very good man so quit lying when you know the truth

He hasn't been in trouble for years and years he was helping Mr Green clean up a house these ppl broke windows doors steps and we was going to put up cameras and this man came at my dad hit him from behind broke his finger and my dad had enough this man is about a foot taller and 50 some pounds and an old man had enough and broke his nose.. Oh well don't mess with ppl you think isn't going to take you.... It's all good God knows what happened.... The courts and and whoever else don't have to believe anything God's is the man

Congratulations to the latest graduates of the Rockingham/Harrisonburg Crisis Intervention Team Training. Is there an update with more information on what actually happened?

Now tax dollars will medicate him, house him, feed him and clothe him for MONTHS....sure he's off the streets but now society is STILL paying the price.

I have known him and worked with him for 5 years and this is completely out of character for Frank. He is hardworking. working OT shifts and a full time nurse practitioner student making solid A's across the board. As long as I have known him he has been the most polite, giving, understanding person, never says anything negative about anyone or anything. Finding the silver lining in every situation. This comes a complete shock to all who know him. I just wish people would stop judging him without knowing who he is a person and only by his picture. Shame on you. Maybe he is on drugs and I'm wrong, but until further details are revealed, there is no reason to continue with the ignorant and unfounded statements/posts.

Wow! How do you guys know he is on something? You don't know him, it may not be at all what you think. Everyone one of you are judging him and you don't know him nor what happened. If you are christians, you need to step back and take a look at yourself! A sin is a sin! I know him, he does not do drugs, he made a mistake and is now scared to death! I hope you never get judged by your photo or expression.

This man and his wife lived in my home for the majority of 2014. I sincerely believe drugs do not have a play here.... mental illness is more likely; along with people that they’ve gotten involved with.

Glad they got him

It takes time to apprehend people who do crimes unless they are caught at the crime scene. The Sheriff office aren't NCIS or Law and order. Glad they caught at least one of them. They'll catch the others involved.

Great job Rockingham County Sherrifs Dept!! Thank you all for a job well done!

Clean the Branch from the meth and save the community!!!!Simple as that.Glad no one was hurt.

Wow.....is he methed out or what JoynDustin Stroop !!! Smh truely makes sense

I do not personally know this man or his character, but I do not see anything in the original post that states this is drug related or that he was on drugs. All discussion about drugs began with people stating their opinion. I choose not to judge who he is or what he did based on one picture. Innocent until proven guilty.

so why not get people with addiction help instead of locking them up and not fixing the problem u know just my opinion ok

Thanks for getting him off the streets. Great job!

It's just not in the branch it's everywhere

A home invasion in Rockingham County!!?? What kind of big city BS is that. Make that crackhead give up his buddies or turn him into buzzard bait.

Doesn't this go to court this week? Is there an update?

Wow, he is wired...his eyes tell a story!

Is there an update on this? What about his wife? No one has heard from her since this incident. How do we know she wasn't hurt or involved in this incident?

Jessica Reeder my next door neighbor....😩

He has to be on something because normal people wouldn't do dumb crap like this.

About time

He should have just went to bed Hahahaha look at them eyes

Amanda N Allen Smithh

Does anyone have any updates to this?

HOMICIDE SUSPECT
Early Sunday A.M. in Broadway
Unknown at this time if armed, but to be considered extremely dangerous! Please call 911 or 564-3800 immediately with any information as to his whereabouts.

Comment on Facebook

If happened early Sunday morning. Why we just now seeing it?

This is a current investigation. Out of respect to the families of the deceased, who are friends of mine, please stop asking for more details and instead send prayers or positive thoughts

POS.

Many prayers for the deceased and their families..the world we live in is sad πŸ’”

It would be so wonderful if people knew how to honor a devastated family rather than stirring all kinds of gossip and saying hurtful things about Something they have absolutely no real knowledge about. Trying to decipher “why this?” And “why that?” about a family that has suffered one of the greatest tragedies and shocks imaginable! Pray for them! Love on them! But for goodness sake quit pointing your fingers! Put yourself in their place!

So what’s the whole story?

http://www.nbc29.com/story/37375462/phillip-daniel-ritchie-arrest-01-29-2018 .... he is now in custody

Prayers πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

It’s in the eyes.

Prayers for the family

Evil in his eyes. Scary

He even looks EVIL

He was caught

He has evil eyes

And my question is why would the relative NOT let them in to check? Hopefully they are looking into that as well. That's a little odd. I mean cops come to my home and telling me they suspect something being wrong with someone in my family even if I didn't believe they was home I would allow them to come on in and check.

Karen Beachy, this was my friend from church when I lived with y’all. How sad πŸ˜”

How sad

WHAT???????

What is wrong with people. I didn’t even hear about this

What happened

Prayers for the victims and all involved

I don’t know that guy and I’m glad I don’t scary!!!

Bryan Blewett this was right below our house yesterday

Maybe he's in florida

We are aware of TWO scams currently circulating in our area:

1. REAL ESTATE SCAM - The scammer is copying photos of homes from legitimate real estate websites and then placing the homes on Craigslist for rent. The scammer then tells any potential renters that he/she is out of the area and asks them to send a deposit through a wire transfer service or Green Dot Card. Once the money transfer is complete, the scammer has your money and you do not have a house because the house did not belong to the scammer to being with.

2. Court/Warrant Scam - The scammer is contacting people in our area claiming to be a member of the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office Civil/Warrant Division. They then tell the victim they need to either pay a fine or go to jail for an outstanding warrant. They tell the victim the fine needs to be paid using a Green Dot card or a bank account number. The scammer has been using (540) 738-0767 as their phone number. PLEASE REMEMBER THE ROCKINGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE DOES NOT COLLECT FINE MONEY OVER THE PHONE AND THE COURTS DO NOT SOLICIT PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE.

Thanks for the outstanding work of your team

😳😱

Sheri Berry this is who called me!!

Melanie Kite

I seen someone take a picture of our house, he stopped on the road for a few seconds and was gone.

Hey! Wait a minute, that’s my phone number

It was very prevalent in Florida during the years of recession and foreclosures. Many bank-owned vacant homes were fraudulently rented out.

I received one the other day, claiming to be IRS, coming to throw me in jail, funny thing is I’ve been disabled for 5yrs, can’t work, always paid my taxes, this is total harassment

The rent thing has been going on for years.

Devil at work

Oh no πŸ™ˆ

oh man

We encountered the rental scam a few years ago. Guy said he was out of the country, told us we could look at the place thru the windows, and he would mail us a key (after we mailed a check) if we wanted to rent.... *smh*

Congratulations to the graduates of last week's Harrisonburg/Rockingham Crisis Intervention Team Training. The 40 hour training enables officers to more effectively communicate with and understand the particular needs of individuals with mental illness. Such individuals may come to the attention of law enforcement and jail personnel due to exhibiting symptoms or behaviors that are misinterpreted as criminal in nature. With this training, deputies are able to reduce the potential for misunderstanding and enhance their ability to de-escalate situations involving persons with mental illness. Additionally, with education about treatment options, deputies are better able to connect individuals with needed treatment consistent with their mental illness, thus avoiding unnecessary incarceration. ... Thanks deputies

This training places another tool into the law enforcement tool box. The bottom line is its potential to save lives, officers and affected persons who may have an abrupt break-or along standing mental illness. Its also something they can try to use to respond to suicidal incidents to try to communicate with the individual. Its not always effective-but it's a chance for all involved. We are fortunate to have a progressive joint effort between the HPD and the Rockingham co. SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Congratulations to all

I hope the dog turns on both of them and kills them. Why do you want to mistreat a helpless animal. They are the animals. They even look like they are animals and lunatics!shameful! What an in bred looking group!!

We heard he's in UVA with stab wound in back and the face and the dog got him in the face

the dog shouldn't have bit him in the first place. it needs to be put down.

Hope they’re brought to justice soon!!!!!

That's rather nasty don't you think

Guess they're going to punish the dog for biting him. 😠

What did they supposedly do?
