Remember after Obama was elected and said we should try changing things and conservatives said, 'We don't agree with this guy but shouldn't publicly criticize him every day?' Those were good times. 🙂
Simple fix to everyone who thinks Trump is doing nothing for the American people plane tickets are cheap right now get yourself a one way ticket to a socialist communist community of your choice where health care is free! I hear North Korea has a good plan for the COVID-19 virus!
As a Brit (and not a royalist one I assure you) even I found some value in this. It's like, she's always been there and I know this will have provided comfort for some, particularly elderly people, at a time when they are scared and some of them alone.
The News Leader finds another avenue to bash our President. What a shock. We the people elected him and you the media need to get over it.
Why do you have to make something cruel out of something good. Stop promoting being a bully
What fantastic information on using Surgical Drape for mask donations. I wish I knew how to sew or had a sewing machine, but I have shared this post in hopes of spreading the word to those more skilled than I am!
It’s called... keeping sane. There are people who battle this thing called depression and being confined to your house for the unforeseeable future is more than just “annoying”
What's the point? What's better than staying home and doing yard work away from everyone?
People are growing food.
There should be rules on it because people are taking advantage of it. Go get your stuff and leave. Dont wander around and act like there isn't a care in the world. This isn't social hour and you are taking advantage that construction based things are essential.
Essential workers are not there for our entertainment they are working overtime away from their families and risking their health for what we need, not for what we want. We have to stop thinking of ourselves and start thinking of everyone. Every decision we make while outside can have an effect on our neighbors, friends & families. #stayhome or PLEASE start shopping safer w/ curbside, delivery or shipping.
Never mind the flu is the bigger problem.
But wasn’t a “mandatory” stay at home 🤷🏻♂️
its essential to some peoples peace of mind gardening etc is healthy and if they use right precautions might as well get something done while your off work etc.. Its healthy to be outdoors especially when sun is out.
They are letting everyone in..Not counting customers or anything..Shame on lowes!! Walmart has done more than they have
People need to do something! Can’t just sit at home all day.
So it's consider essential to ask Fast food to still do drive thru and delivering but not essential for those that choose to put out a garden.... Anyone see any irony? At least you can see the people and have a idea if they look sick or are being safe unlike someone preparing your food . and this goes for both sides as the consumer and business side
I thought the same thing I've never seen Lowe's so packed.
Every spring I am at lowes and other garden centers buying mulch , black cow, seed mix. And Every spring there are ma y people doing it too.
Being outside in the yard planting flowers is much better than the doom and gloom on tv.
Something to do while at home.
I was terrified. I did a pickup hoping for curbside. Had to leave my car and go inside to the customer service where at least 5 young folks where in a small area , no masks. People passing me as I was waiting to pick up with no concern for social distancing. Folks going to the outdoor area had to go through the store to get outside. It was really scary. Will not go back.
Sooooooo ! What ?! ... this freaking article is a script! .. it's plan is to entice the local and state officials into a reply and and more aggressive street patrol..I guess their motto for job security is,,.. Create news.. Make news..,, the sheep shall follow
Unless you are perfect, please quit judging people! For the most part I think people are doing their part. Everyone’s lifestyle and situations are different.
Lowe’s also has sales going on to get people in the stores. Also, my husband just got home from his job at Lowe’s in Staunton, and there are not masks and gloves readily available to employees.
Use Home Depot if you must. They’re actively encouraging social distancing and will bring your order to your car. This is no time for family field trips.
Lowe's a big store they do have signs up maintaining your distance
I think we all need to think about putting out a vegetable garden for ourselves and the elderly.
Yes! Absolutely! My large garden and fruit orchard is why I can stay out of grocery stores for the most part. My garden needs can't wait until the pandemic is over. NOW is when this year's garden goes in.
It can't wait. Moreover, if people are ordered to stay at home, what better thing to do is work outside in the sunshine and fresh air. Not all of us are chained to Netflix or Hulu.

I guess the COVID-19 crisis must be coming to an end trying stir something different up on President Trump always trying to make him look bad sad thing is all this fake news and the socialistic communist Democrats can’t seem to make it happen!
News leader never speaks against any Democrat!
He acts like the spoiled brat he is.
What do you think the President can do? Hes not God! Hes not a Dr! He isn't someone that can make a cure for something we know nothing about! He is doing all that he is allowed/ told to do! Dont blame the President. If YOU can do better then DO it!!
He's doing fine and is trying harder then Obama did. It's hilarious KYS🤣🤣
Relevant opinion piece by well-respected veteran and U.S. Senator Tammy Duckwork. I hope others read it instead of reading the headline and bashing The News Leader. There is so much more our leader can do to help us. States are bidding against each other and inflating prices when trying to buy PPE and vents. This could be operating so much more efficiently. Our tax dollars are paying inflated prices unnecessarily when the federal government could be buying supplies and distributing them. Where are the fiscal conservatives now?
I don’t understand why all this hatred towards the President. He has done way more than Obama has done, he’s trying to lead a country and fight against fake news and these idiotic democrats and then there is citizens out there who want to bash him! Why isn’t there any hatred towards China who caused all this! Why do people continue to buy from other country’s instead of our own? He’s doing the best he can and that’s better than any Dumbacrats can do. Get use to it! Trump 2020
Thank you, Senator Duckworth for continuing to fight for Americans.
A newspaper joke.
What do you expect from a 5 year old??
TYPICAL NEWS LEADER LEFT OPINION!😡😡
Fired the Pandemic Office. Shrugged it off in Nov/Dec. closing to China was the 1st smart thing he did. He needs to stop prescribing meds that may not help & could hurt.
I am so glad I canceled our subscription to The News Leader.
he will never be one at all
It's unfortunate that President Trump's initial reaction to this was to stall, not take it serious, bash and blame others. Firing the (a yr & 1/2 ago) pandemic team at the CDC was a big mistake as well. He has just been awful at the helm. Touting a fish tank cleaner (that works to treat malaria) was another giant mistake by the President. Thanks News Leader for keeping us well informed of the facts (and spot on opinion pieces) stating all his many missteps and foibles. I know they must be getting hard to count by now, so thanks again and keep up the good work in your usual reporting!
Made far worse by the President? How about the media? He's not god. He's doing a hell of alot better with the situation then the last so called President we had would have.
I read this.. and her temperature was normal ... I wonder if this ain't hype.. or a lie..yes it's from some sort of Zoo source ..but...
There are numerous strands of the coronavirus. Animals can carry various strands. It’s not uncommon and it’s not a new thing...media hype to scare the crap out of you all even more. Please just wash ya hands and stay home as much as you can to help calm the spread.
The animal was positive for COVID-19, you will not test positive for COVID-19 if you have a different coronavirus. Not everyone gets a fever, or even the other symptoms. Until there is proof they are lying...
Hmmm this happens no more than the dreams influencing our daily response to the pandemic...dreams influence your day and your day influences your dreams. It's all happening at once and your worrying or lack thereof changes nothing.
Holly Eddy, I saw this and thought of you. Be well my friend.🤗
It's true: people in their 50s have more cases of COVID-19 than any other age group. If you're in your 40s, the news is not much better. Those two age groups are in the top 3 of those being affected by the highly-contagious virus. ... See MoreSee Less
So how do you get these materials to make the masks??? Stores closed and I’m sure most people don’t have interfacing at home.
Seems you may also need a sewing machine.
So info not really helpful. But thanks
