So they give yall a heads up on working on a tank. And we get a bunch of comments on water being contaminated. Smh. The river is fine just wash after you go. And move where you have a well. If you are so worried about town 😒😒😒

Just moved here a few months ago and I'm so scared of the water. Upon arrival I notice there was a post saying water was contaminated .The residents of Front Royal weren't notified for the 1st 24 hours and weren't happy. I purchased a water tank for my children out of fear. Now I'm wondering should they shower or take baths in this water? I was very sad when I found out I could not take them to the river because it was full of feces.

They want more houses on an old system that already has proven to be a problem; yep makes perfect sense to me!

So for 6-8 weeks we either have zero water, or muddy water?

The Shenandoah river is so contaminated; full of PCB’s don’t eat the fish if your a fisherman

I agree something needs to be done to make the bad seeds accountable. To the lady below,if you got a 500 dollar light bill girl you need to change your living habits ,redo your insulation, windows etc ha ha.

Deposits are based on the Highest bill of the year prior. Which means that those $500+ electric bills will be someone's deposit next year. How much more will they raise them? People can't afford that high of a deposit for electric!

Our total bill has never been outrageous; but we also did a complete install of foam insulation and window replacement too.

There are some political candidates running on a platform of lower electric bills. Not sure how that is going to work out since they can’t control the market and the wholesale cost of power.

If the bills werent sky high then ppl could afford to pay them... 230 dollar bill but only 65 was for the actual electric used

VOLUNTARY REDUCTION OF ELECTRIC CONSUMPTION
As temperatures are expected to reach well into the 90’s in the next few days, the Town of Front Royal’s electric customers are being asked to conserve power. Customers can take simple conservation steps such as:
• shutting off lights when not needed
• avoid using ovens/stoves from 3:pm-6:pm
• unplugging small appliances and electric chargers
• raising the air conditioner thermostat, a degree or two
• doing laundry and other household chores that require hot water or electricity during hours other than 3:pm-6:pm

Will there be more bollards placed? Is Main St. being turned into a walking mall?

Awesome! This is great news!

Hallelujah! Thank you for coming up with a great solution.

Finally!

How much will the cost go up???

I just moved to town and would like to start recycling what kind of bin would I need to use for this? Can it be any bin I buy?

Yep saw this yesterday

The town is no longer recycling. They found it to expensive

Our recycling bin was taken by the town. Will they be returned?

So where is it all going? Did they finally find somewhere to take it or is it just goin to the landfill anyway but still advertised as recycle?

So are they going to provide bins or do throw it on the ground. No bin= no recycling.

Do you have to remove the plastic labels off soda bottles?

Are they REALLY recycling it? Or just piling it up due to high cost of shipping?

Ok. Right

Does the same go for county residents who use the refuse centers?

As temperatures are expected to reach well into the 90’s in the next few days, the Town of Front Royal’s electric customers are being asked to conserve power. If we can conserve during these peak hours (3:00pm – 6:00pm), we can save on transmission and capacity costs, and help keep the electricity rates low. The Town requests electric customers to voluntarily reduce energy consumption today, Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 3:00pm - 6:00pm.

Customers can take simple conservation steps such as:

shutting off lights when not needed
avoid using ovens/stoves from 3:00pm-6:00pm
unplugging small appliances and electric chargers
raising the air conditioner thermostat a degree or two
doing laundry and other household chores that require hot water or electricity during hours other than 3:00pm-6:00pm
turning off televisions, computers, radios and other electronic devices when not being used.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions or concerns please call the Energy Services Department at (540) 635-3027, Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm.

I would like a prize for not using AC at all, thank you very much 😂 (because it's broken, not because I'm a martyr 😉)

The company needs to keep its rates down also

Will do.

Seriously?? The hottest parts of the day, not to mention dinner time, so double that on heat. And you expect people to cut down on electric consumption?? 🤔🤔🤔

New state adequate sheltering of animals definition became effective today, July 1, 2019. Please make sure your pets have plenty of shade, proper shelter, space and water.

The definition of “adequate shelter” for companion animals was amended to require the provision of shelter that, during hot weather, is shaded and does not readily conduct heat and, during cold weather, has a windbreak at its entrance and provides sufficient bedding material. It is now required that in order to meet the mandate that an animal be given adequate space, a tether must be at least three (3) times the length of the animal or ten (10) feet in length, whichever is greater and not cause injury or pain, not weigh more than one-tenth of the animal’s body weight, or have weights or heavy objects attached to it.
