At this time, there is one confirmed case of Coronavirus in Clarke County.
In cooperation with the State and Federal 30 day extension of social distancing, the Clarke County Board of Supervisors, the Clarke County Sheriff’s Department and the EMA are requesting your help in slowing the spread of the Coronavirus.
• Avoid gatherings of more than 10 people. No athletic events or other social gatherings. Just because people are off work does not mean it is a time to gather for fun. Please stay at home out of public groups if at all possible.
• Restrict visitation to long-term care facilities, such as nursing homes.
• Discretionary travel and social visits should be avoided. Only travel when necessary for food or prescription purchases, medical treatment or emergency.
• Use drive-through, pickup and delivery options for local restaurants.
• If anyone in a household tests positive for the virus, everyone who lives there should stay home. Self-isolate for at least 14 days.

It is still essential that everyone continues to practice basic preventative measures:
• Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly
• Avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose
• Cover your coughs and sneezes
• Clean surfaces and objects that are touched regularly
• Stay home if you do become sick

Sheriff Todd Kemp requests that all citizens in Clarke County comply with these guidelines and continue to act accordingly.
The Mississippi State Department of Health’s website is a primary resource for information on coronavirus. If you have additional questions, you are also encouraged to call the MSDH COVID-19 hotline, 877-978-6453

I can tell you this sheriffs department is a joke. You can beat a woman with a baseball bat and get away with it. Pretty sure as long as Marcus shows up. Hell rob a bank and shoot a cop they dont care if it's not monday thru Friday from 8 to 5 your good. Cause marcus is trash ass officer. Tommy has them under his control and does meth with them

Good 😡 Great job Clarke County Sheriffs Department 🙏🙏❤️

"Let those without SIN, cast the first stone" This is my Great nephew!! He needs lots of prayers and help! life hasn't been real great for him!! So instead of criticizing him, realize that for the Grace of God, this could be you or one of your loved ones!!

Good job CCSD. He looks good in Orange

Thank you for getting him off the streets, someone could of been killed!

Thank you Clarke county sheriffs department!

Unfortunately, what he did is only a misdemeanor in MS so unless the prosecutor gets creative he won't spend much time in jail. He deserves a much more severe punishment than the maximum the statute allows. § 97-15-13 - Hunting or shooting on or across streets and highways (3) If any person hunts or discharges any firearm in, on or across any street, public road, public highway, levee, railroad or the right-of-way thereof, such person is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine not less than One Hundred Dollars ($ 100.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($ 500.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail for not less than sixty (60) days nor more than six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. This subsection shall not apply to any law enforcement officer while in the performance of his official duty or to any person engaged in a lawful action of self-defense.

Make an example of his butt!!! He screwed up big time & luckily no one was hurt/killed, but what he did was NOT OK!! Make him pay for his actions!!!

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Way to go CCSO & community members!

Awesome! Way to go CCSD

Sad to see he may not have a future. And fortunate he did not kill anyone, that would have landed him in jail for a very long time.

Good! I hope he learns a lesson!!

Great job!

Y’all must not be passin out awards now a days huh #TopFlightSecurity

Great job !!!!

Little pansy punk! Hopefully he gets made an example.

Thank you!!!

Can't imagine how they caught this master criminal...

way to go LEO!

He looks messed up.

Haters want ur down fall, like we, living like an outlaw. We, are not at all without flaws. I know a little dirt, on a lot of yall. Let's, leave it at inhibition and hope that they believe us to and, leave us with quickly. Jail ain't no place for any soul. And the deed is definitely inconsolabable. But youth is a muth@ fu@$. And every body hates you till they love u. It really doesn't make me none. I just thought I'd say sum.

Good job.

Good job keep up the good work

I bet he won't video anything else and put on FB?????

I thought he said that the video was old and he serves 33 days in juvy for it?? Guess that was a lie.

Clarke County Hot Topics***BREAKING NEWS UPDATE***
PACHUTA - Successful ending after Heroic rescue efforts made by State Trooper Anthony Chancelor, Clarke County Deputy Austin Touchstone, and Clarke County Deputy Brad McNeece.

CCHT would like to commend these guys for not hesitating when it came to this life-saving, high-water rescue situation.

Witnesses who called 911 for help stated the vehicle was overturned and the driver was still inside and yelling for help as the waters continued to rise into the vehicle.

Once Troopers and Deputies arrived on scene it was confirmed the driver was indeed trapped inside, that's when the three jumped into action through the flood water.

State Trooper Anthony Chancelor with the Mississippi Highway Patrol said on scene Wednesday morning, "We just couldn't sit back and wait, the car was on it's side, the water was steadily rising and we didn't know how long the car would remain stable before overturning".

Chancelor, McNeece and Touchstone all went into the blinding water not knowing quiet what to expect below. "We didn't know if their was a ditch or a low spots, so we all just went in guiding each other in case one of us fell". Chancelor said.

The driver who was from said to be from Alabama suffered minor injuries during the accident, however no medical attention was needed. Without a doubt the situation could have been much worse had the vehicle actually rolled onto its roof in the rising water.

Pachuta, Enterprise Fire Departments and other local first responders also responded to and assisted with the accident scene.

This is so sad. There is so much more to this story. I'm reading comments and someone said set up? This child had multiple injuries in different stages of healing. The abuse was ongoing. The child was 16 is what the story said. Was child disabled? Why did she live with them? Did the teenage girl have an abusive boyfriend? If so, why did the guardians not report this or did they? If she was in their care, they need to speak up. This child was tortured. Condolences To The Family God Bless 🙏

Great...good work Clarke Co...

Never heard this on the news. Chip how u miss this.

Lord have mercy.

Oh My God Both Of Them Look Crazy They Are Through

I got so many questions about this situation???? Where was her mom? Why was she with them? What happen? Was she disable? What could she possibly done for her to lose her life? I mean JUST WHY??????!!!!!!

Why does last weeks cellshock say child abuse?

That's ashamed and sad 😢. They need to rot under the jail

They dont ever deserve to see the light of day ,and shes less than a woman to be in on that shit

how do the relatives and friends not know anything...

Yall know what I meant this shit turned my stomach.

Good job

A Dam shame why would you do a child like this 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Keep them locked up for ever

So sad

Really sad to speak up On

Don't let them out and give them life now cause that was my child now

That's sad

Why not give the child up for adoption

Got a scam call wanting to talk about my computer and did I have windows. I told them I did not have a computer and all my windows were on my house. Then I hung up.

This was done multiple times to my parents. They told them that my son was in jail (he was at school) and that my nephew had been in an accident (when he was actually serving his country in the Air Force). I dont know how this information is obtained by these callers to convince people that their loved ones are in need of help, but it upset my mother because she thought her grandsons were in a bad situation. Really makes me mad.

Barry made a shift almost 50 miles west overnight and put us in a slightly different position than anticipated. Radar has showed heavy rain remaining offshore and toward the Mobile area all day. That trend is expected to continue tonight.

While this is the case, it doesn't mean we're out of the woods just yet.
Forecasts show a bulk of the rain moving across the area tomorrow. Based on all the new data we have today, all of the threats have been lowered some.

Rainfall will continue tonight and tomorrow. We'll have some leftover rain on Monday before everything clears out on Tuesday.

The possibility for a tornado and flash flooding Sunday exists. Please remain weather aware tonight and through the rest of the weekend into Monday.

Ridiculous!

Nun good gone come from it they got to answer to the man above for that

Do they not fear the Lord?

Have people not learned that most everyone has cameras on their property these days? It’s all because of people like them.

People r pure evil!!! I hate a thief but to steal from a church is a whole new level of LOW! 🤬🤬🤬

Sick people.

Ours was stolen a couple of months ago from Chunky Baptist Church. Different vehicle description but what a coincidence that they stole the very same thing off our church van!

Looks like my truck

Wow! And to think not long ago we had to pay people to have that done. 😜

Damnit girl lol

God knows!!

Looks like the right rear door glass and quarter glass may be broken out .

Wow! That’s like stealing a Bible!😱

Lawwwrd amuscee

There was a thwarted burglary less than a week ago at the sweet water church in Moselle. I understand there were possibly three that fled to a vehicle and speed away.

Check with the scrap yard and see if anybody has tried to sell one.

Jesus knows!!

Thankful for security cameras!

Do they not fear the Lord?

Stealing is a sin but its a just a low down dirty sin stealing from a church or from church property. Get a job & stop stealing periodt

Pretty low down.

Sad

Are you serious...

Clarke County Hot Topics***SCAM ALERT***
Chief Deputy Barry White warns CCHT of a scam alert going around once again targeting the elderly citizens regarding Medicaid / Medicare fraud.

Chief White wants the public to be aware of this scam and not to give out personal information to anyone on the phone including your full name, date of birth, social security number, address, financial information etc...

Remember if your Medicaid / Medicare tries to contact you on a weekend it’s more-than-likely a fraud considering most government offices are closed on Saturday and Sunday’s.

The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting roadside safety checkpoints throughout the year of 2019 on all roads within the county. These checkpoints are designed to deter any and all criminal activity. This may seem like an inconvenience for some, however it is our goal to protect the motoring public within our county.

Y’all going to patrol 670 this ain’t nothing but a race track

Me too especially with all that drug trafficking

I guess I am about to sound stupid 🤣 ... but by “checkpoints” doesn’t this refer to roadblocks? If so - now is a good time to post the meme about not telling where they will be/are located for the safety of all!

John Pitts

Good job

Are yall going to check any of those 18 wheelers that drive like meatheads that been up 6 days playing nascar on hwy 84 or is all that recklessness fine and dandy?

Ji Conner

This is Clarke County, Mississippi

Can y’all set up on 59 and write tickets to folks going slow in the hammer lane? Asking for myself

so our taxes aren't enough, gotta extort us on the roadside too?

Go for it. Yall should have one every week 👍

Welcome to stay out my way!

320 just keeps getting worse with speeders

I think it’s a great thing to do !!! I am behind you 100 percent!!! Keep up the good work and prayers for your safety!

Sounds like nazi Germany to me.

We support you!

Hy. 11 would be a good start. I was doing 60 mph and had a log truck on my bumper till it passed me just in time to slow down for Pachuta in this wet weather.
